Believe, Achieve, Succeed.

You’re invited!

To join the next generation of after school programsafter school graphic

The Believe, Achieve, Succeed program, or BAS for short, is unlike any after school program you’ve ever seen. BAS allows students to choose their own path of study and explore the subjects and areas that really interest them. The options are truly endless. All students grades 7-9 are now eligible to take part in this student-led program that runs Monday- Thursday 2:30- 5:30 pm. Student bussing is provided, and did I mention SNACKS? Yeah, we have those, too. BAS has all the supports in place to help our students reach their potential and explore ideas and topics they’ve only dreamed of.

Choose your own adventure...

At BAS, students have lots of options. From groups and clubs, to tutoring and homework help, students have many opportunities to boost their grades while also exploring topics and subjects that they love. Our core subjects include things like: reading, math, and science; and our extracurricular clubs are truly limitless. Students can take part in:

Chemistry Group

  • Rockets, volcanoes, chemical reactions.
  • Check, check, check.

Cosmo Club

  • Hair, makeup, nails, and more!
  • Explore career paths

Computer Programming and Technology Group

  • Create games
  • Build your own sites

Foreign Language Clubs

  • Spanish
  • German language and culture

Music Group

  • Write your own song
  • Learn to play an instrument

Art and Drama Club

  • Mixed media projects
  • Write and star in your own plays

But wait, there’s more!

BAS students and even their parents can look forward to a bunch of program perks and excursions, totally free!

  • Quarterly Field trips and community nights
  • Incentives and prizes for good attendance and behavior
  • Better grades and a renewed love for school
  • Control of their learning path and goals
  • Help with the tests, papers, or projects that students struggle with
  • Snacks! I know I mentioned it before, but it was worth repeating

What’s the catch?

There isn’t one! This program is totally free to all students and transportation is provided! All students need to participate is a completed application, a good behavior record, and the drive to participate. It’s pretty simple. We want students who want to be part of this program. Students will spend one hour a day working on their school work, the remaining two hours are completely open for them to explore what really interests them.

Another huge component of BAS is Genius hour. This problem-based learning technique allows students to develop, propose, and prepare their own projects based on their hobbies, interests, and passions. Students create their own research-based project and determine what happens next. Current projects include: computer animation, board game development and design, opening a babysitting business for local parents, and many others!

What’s next?

  • Complete the attached application and submit to MJHS/MHS as soon as possible (there are limited spots available)
  • You will be contacted when your student has been enrolled
  • If you have questions or concerns, please contact me!
